I do not want to limit what memories you share but I definitely would not like to collect obituaries. Please do not write about how long your loved one stayed at their job or how many people they left behind. That's not personal.

Instead, write about the times you laughed or cried together (or the times you laughed so hard you cried). Write about how your loved one affected your life and what made them special to you.

I do not want to put restrictions on the length of your remembrances but a general guideline would be no more than 1,000 words.
(1,000 words = 2 typed pages: Times New Roman, 12pt, Single Spaced)

In addition to your remembrances you should include your name, relationship to the deceased, and full contact information (mailing address, phone number, email address). As a rule, your name (first and last) and relationship with the deceased will be published with your writing. You can compose and submit pieces for as many people as you'd like.

Your submission will not be altered except to correct typos, spelling mistakes, or gross grammatical errors. Anonymous pieces will not be accepted and any negative submissions will be discarded. If enough submissions aren't received to adequately fill a book, the sum of collected material will be compiled and donated to the Readsboro Public Library and the Readsboro Historical Society.

Collecting your memories, while the most important part of the project, is the easiest part (for me). Once submissions are received, they'll have to be proof-read, input on the computer, and compiled. Designing and typesetting a book is a huge undertaking. I'm not expecting this to be completed overnight. Any profit made from the use of the collected writings will be donated to the Readsboro Cemetery Commision for the strict purpose of repairing and preserving damaged gravestones in our town cemeteries.

Mailed or emailed submissions can be sent to the addresses below. Alternately, drop off locations have been arranged at the Readsboro General Store and at Always Emma's. No postage is necessary if dropped off at one of these locations.
